    DTM Launched!

    This one is particularly interesting as it's the first carset with success ballast. The more you win, the slower your car becomes - allowing your rivals to catch up.


    It features historical data and liveries, but you can also create your own team and change the livery. It's a short-but-fun 10-race carset that ought to be a close title battle throughout!

    To answer all those asking about it - yes, the F1 2009 carset will be released within the next few days! We are a little later than normal preparing this set, and will most likely roll out additional features after the sets release.

    Introducing... Megaraces

    And now for something a little bit different. Instead of a conventional BATracer championship, how about a single race played out over a number of days?


    A first for BATracer - Indy 500 is the first of our new Megaraces and majors on changing strategies, tyre choices and reacting to events during the race. 37 entrants per race - but only 1 driver can become victorious!

    Each winner of the Indy 500 gets a special icon shown on their profile.

    Indycar 2008

    An all-new carset brings this years reunification of US single seater racing to BATracer.


    Available in two parts, the first element features accurate multiple-liveries per team and specialisations across the entire 2008 Indycar season. A 27-strong grid make the races busy, and lone-wulfs will love the option of single car teams. To date, this carset features more oval races than any other carset. Part 2 will follow in a few weeks.

    Champcar Championship v2.0

    A small graphics update to an existing carset this time:


    This should be loved by fans of the original carset, it adds new graphics, full liveries from the '95 season and two new tracks. Indy 500 is also included, which features aggregated qualifying - quite a different challenge to normal. This carset also introduces a nations cup which we thought such a great idea we included it across all games! The original carset remains for those after a slightly shorter championship.

    F1 Pack Released!

    In a first for BATracer, we have released 3 new carsets at once - all based on past modern F1 seasons - each with their own features that make them different from the rest.


    Smallprint: Because not everybody loves F1, we've not made them permanently available this time. If one of the carsets isn't available to join right now it will rotate around shortly.     LMES Private Games

    LMES has been made available as a private game.


    Only 1 private LMES game can be played per account, so spend wisely! Rather than simply recreating public-game conditions, it is recommended game managers class-limit the game (e.g. GT & GTS cars only, or LMP1 only, etc). A 24-car LMES grid of tin-top sportscars is surely quite a different experience to the regular LMES set.

    Old carsets to make a comeback...

    After many requests, the older F1 sets (which for some time now have been only available as private games) will make a partial return to the public games list.


    The games will appear without warning - it won't be possible to get an e-mail alert for instance. Instead, every once in a while one such game will appear as a rare treat entirely at random!

    DTM and Champcar v2.0 Shading

    These two carsets now have revised shading models. If you have a custom livery in either of these sets a fresh upload of the car will shade them correctly as originally intended by the carset creator.

    Latest changes...

    We have made a trio of small updates:

    1) KERS is increasingly less effective in wet conditions.

    2) The car comparison page now has now been recalculated - the blue bars (showing upgrades) should now be more accurate.

    3) The race commentary will now attempt to decide who was to blame when their is a collision between cars, click here for more information about this new feature during the replays.

    KERS Introduced

    KERS has been added to the race strategy page for the F1 2009 carset. This can give a performance advantage on some circuits, but it always carries an increased risk of reliability gremlins. Overtaking and blocking is easier with KERS, but only if the driver being passed is without it.

    F1 2009 Gets Fuel Rule

    Good news which - together with the single warmup lap - increases the realism of our F1 set still further!

    In 3-stage qualifying if you qualify in the top 10 you now carry your fuel during that session - effecting your laptime. In addition, the top 10 runners can not adjust their first stop during the pre-race warmup phase. Like real F1, drivers who did not make the final qualifying session have the freedom of an open strategy.

    (These new rules will not be applied to the previous F1 carsets).

    Browser Advice

    The site will let you know on the Office page if you are using a browser that BATracer isn't happy with. IE6 works fine but the new PNG graphics in the F1 2009 set won't display correctly. IE5 is very ancient these days and the site probably won't work with it. The site will also encourage you to upgrade if you're using Firefox 1/2 or Opera 8. Generally these browsers should automatically upgrade but if not BATracer will let you know!

    WR Adjustment

    A lot of people have been writing in about losing World Ranking points. This is part of a WR adjustment to make your ranking relative to other players more accurate. Since it affects everybody - your actual ranking may actually have increased despite losing points.
