    German Tourers Racing Strategy Game

This carset is largely the work of Matt Simons, with additional help from Jef Beyens.

    DTM

This series is inspired by the DTM championship (German Touring Cars).

    7th - 2 points
    8th - 1 point

    Teams

For the purpose of this championship, each driver is in their own team, preventing any setup sharing.

Team orders are replaced by manufacturer orders - allowing you to let through cars of the same type. These are unlikely to become a factor until the end of a championship where lower running drivers may wish to help their manufacturer to the title.

If you can't understand why half the field is passing you so easily - this is one of the first things you should check!

    Weight Penalties

One of the most significant aspects of this carset is weight penalties. Ballast is added/removed from the car according to the following rules:

  • +5kg - Finishing on the podium
  • -5kg - Finishing 9th place or lower.

Ballast is not removed if you fail to finish!

    Pit Stops

Pit stops cannot be scheduled within the first 6 or the final 8 laps of any race. Pit stops resulting from unforseen circumstances will be permitted. Each driver will make 2 stops in the race.

    Qualifying

Qualifying follows a rule similar to F1's "3-stage qualifying" format, with 6 drivers knocked out in the first and second sessions, leaving the third session for the top 8 only. Unlike GP, fuel choices are not a factor for the drivers that make it through to the final stage of qualifying.

    Hockenheim

Hockenheim appears twice on the calendar, at the start and as the championship finale. Though this is a race at the same circuit, the setups will be different and treated as a new race. Having said that, the setup parameters should not be wildly different to before. In addition, because the race appears twice, you enjoy a couple more practice laps at this circuit than at the others due to familiarity.
