Cars

McLewis

Famous British team failed to win a single Grand Prix in 2006. But excellent testing results boost the hopes to become the top team of GP once more.

Renu

Reining champion's looking to a score 3rd title. Slightly disappointing test results but strong reliability.

Team Wales

The team is looking to re-capture former glory. Title favourites following strong testing results.

Hinda

Hinda proved in testing the car has potential but they still have some problems to be addressed. Unique no-sponsors livery.

Bavarian Bauber

Entering their 2nd season of partnership the team had impressive showings in testing. Although reliability has been a concern there are hopes of strong results.

Toyoma

F1's richest team desperate to make an impact at the front. Mixed testing results lead to doubts over the car's pace.

Red Bell

Big expectations for the Adrian Newey designed new chassis. Poor reliability in testing leaves car potential unknown.

Wallace

Looking to bounce back from disastrous 2006 season. Promising test results lead to hopes of an improved campaign.

Roro Torso

The junior team enter their 2nd season with a customer car and engine. Limited winter testing helped showing the team still has a long way to go.

Spike

Dutch team entering its first full season. Small budget but hoping to punch above its weight with strong engine.

Hyper Oguri

Lots of Japanese passion and a strong Hinda engine powers this rather undeveloped chassis but the team has high aims.

  • Events Calendar

    Melbourne

    Australia - 18th March

The GP season kicks off again in Melbourne, after last year where it started in Bahrain. A fast and challenging circuit, Melbourne is in a fantastic parkland setting. Overtaking isn't easy, and a good setup is important.

    Sepang

    Malaysia - 8th April

A complex and modern circuit, with an impressive main straight and grandstand. Excellent facilities, though high humidity can be tiring for the drivers - but can often result in wet races for the fans.

    Bahrain

    Bahrain - 15th April

Bahrain is a modern venue with first class facilities. When the wind picks up grip can suffer as dust is blown onto the circuit.

    Barcelona

    Spain - 13th May

Since Alonso shot to fame, the Spanish GP has enjoyed a revitalisation with packed grandstands. The circuit is a major test venue throughout the season for all GP teams. As a result the racing can appear to be processional, though it does statistically have the reputation for hosting the most number of wet races.

    Monaco

    Monte-Carlo - 27th May

Surely the most famous and glamorous GP circuits is the toughest of them all - with a beautiful harbour and many bars to visit. The narrow streets are real nightmare in an GP car and the race duration requires huge levels of stamina. Driver errors resulting in retirement are common. Very difficult to overtake!

    Montreal

    Canada - 10th June

The Canadians still love their GP - though their support for local heroes has rarely been rewarded. A temporary street circuit results in high speeds and heavy breaking. Rain is not uncommon.

    Indianapolis

    United States - 17th June

Run on part of the oval - in reverse - it's quite a spectacle, though the infield section has been described as mickey mouse by some. It's a challenge for the teams to decide on the correct setup and strategy - do they take into account the main straight and overtaking or try to keep up momentum around the infield corners?

    Magny Cours

    France - 1st July

A modern autodrome deep in the centre of France, drivers will note it for it's long haul up the hill into a slow right hander which is by far the best overtaking point.

    Silverstone

    England - 8th July

A very famous circuit and the modern home of motorsport for many. There are some fantastic sweeping bends - especially near the opening Beckets section. This is generally a high speed circuit, and is vulnerable to the British weather even in high summer.

    Nurburgring

    European GP - 22nd July

Next to the legendary and original 13 mile circuit, GP cars still come to the modern safer equiverlent of today. The drivers seem generally happy with the circuit even if it appears a bit bland relative to the old circuit. Historically the modern circuit has been the scene of many incident-packed races.

    Hungaroring

    Hungary - 5th August

A natural bowl is the home for Hungary's race. Described as Monaco without the barriers for many years - recent changes have made it easier to overtake and a more interesting venue. It still requires high stamina.

    Istanbul

    Turkey - 26th August

The first race at this venue proved popular in 2005, when the tricky turn 8 made the race very exciting. Overtaking is possible here if you can pressure other drivers into a mistake.

    Monza

    Italy - 9th September

Facing each driver are huge long straights punctuated by chicanes, most notable being turn one - the scene of several opening accidents.

    Spa-Francorchamps

    Belgium - 16th September

The GP circus returns to Spa after a break last year. Considered by most drivers to be one of the most challenging circuits, the elevation changes, high speed corners - especially Eau Rouge make this race one to look forward to. The weather is highly changeable and can put a spanner in the works of a well thought out strategy. The length of the lap is signficant and thus only 44 laps make up the race distance.

    Fuji

    Japan - 30th September

Fuji has won its bid to host the Japanese race in 2007, and fans will be greeted by a new reprofiled circuit especially for the event. The main straight is the longest in the season, at 1.5km.

    Shanghai

    China - 7th October

A modern and wide circuit not unlike Sepang, combining long straights with technical corners.

    Interlagos

    Brazil - 21st October

Based in the slums of Sau Paulo, the race often results in a good turn out for the passionate home drivers. On the circuit, many will complain about fatigue from the high speed left hander leading onto the pit straight. The surface is exceptionally bumpy, though a resurfacing addressed some of these issues. This is the last race of the season!

    Upgrades

This carset was the first season to have no traditional in-game upgrades:

  • Because there is only one tyre supplier, there are no tyre upgrades.
  • Because engines are locked for 2007, there are no engine upgrades.

However, we have introduced chassis upgrades instead. Because in reality each constructor builds one car, these can only effect one team at a time!

    Credits

Pieczar for recreating the new released version of the set and significant efforts with the updated graphics!

    Disclaimer

Though this carset is inspired by high level single seater racing, no actual real life teams, cars or intellectual property is included.
