    Clipsal 500

    Adelaide - 13th March

"Clipsal 500, Adelaide Street Circuit - former venue for GP races, the V8 supercars run on a shortened version of the track. The Clipsal 500, as it is known to locals, produces some of the most exciting racing in Australia. This race is of extended distance."

    Clipsal 500 Race 2

    Adelaide - 14th March

The second race is of identical distance to the first.

    ITM Hamilton 400

    New Zealand - 17th April

    ITM Hamilton 400 Race 2

    New Zealand - 18th April

The second race is of identical distance to the first.

    City of Ipswich 300

    "Ipswich, Aus." - 1st May

"Queensland Raceway, Ipswich. Home of most of the Ford racing teams. The track is very fast with two long straights and two shorter straights on the infield."

City of Ipswich 300 Race 2

    "Ipswich, Aus." - 2nd May

"The second race is longer than the first, requiring a different approach."

"Winton Motor Raceway. Winton is a tight circuit, accidents can be common."

    Winton Motor Raceway Race 2

    Skycity Triple Crown

Hidden Valley Raceway - 19th June

    Skycity Triple Crown Race 2

Hidden Valley Raceway - 20th June

"The second race is longer than the first, requiring a different approach."

    Townsville 400

    Queensland - 10th July

"A temporary street circuit, first used in 2009. This circuit has been described as having more in common with a regular road course, it just happens to be in the centre of a city. Despite this, it can be unforgiving."

    Townsville 400 Race 2

    Queensland - 11th July

The second race is of a comparable distance to the first.

    L&H 500 Qualifying Race

    Victoria - 11th September

"Grand Finale Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. A frustrating circuit which will test the patience of drivers. A fast sweeping circuit, overtaking may be difficult depending upon setup and strategy. A unique event on the calendar, the first race is short and devised specifically to set the grid order for the main race."

    L&H 500 Race

    Victoria - 12th September

The main race is long and gruelling - drivers must bide their time and not try to go all out too soon. Strategy will play a bigger part in this race than most.

    Bathurst

New South Wales - 10th October

"Mount Panorama, Bathurst. This is it - The Great Race! Hours of gruelling racing with big points on offer at this famous event. This circuit is set on the edge of Mount Panorama, with huge undulating terrain."

    Armor All Gold Coast 600

    Queensland - 23rd October

The first of two long races at this popular track. A rectangular street circuit on the coast which also hoasts a champcar event. Several different chicanes and 90 degree corners can catch out even top drivers who let their concentration lapse.

Armor All Gold Coast 600 Race 2

    Queensland - 24th October

The second race is of identical distance to the first - and no less demanding!

    Falken Tasmania Challenge

    Tasmania - 13th November

"This circuit was reinstated into the V8 Supercars calendar in 2004 after a five year break. The track has three main braking points, one of which is a tight hairpin - the site of many overtaking moves."

    Falken Tasmania Challenge Race 2

    Tasmania - 14th November

The second race is of identical distance to the first.

    Sandown

    Melbourne - 20th November

    Sandown Race 2

    Melbourne - 21st November

The second race is of identical distance to the first.

    Sydney Telstra 500

    Sydney - 4th December

"This street circuit is also the final race in the season. Designed by none other than Mark Skaife himself, the circuit is technical but with good braking areas and overtaking places."

    Sydney Telstra 500 Race 2

    Sydney - 5th December

The second race is of a comparable distance to the first.

    V8S 2010 Racing Strategy Game

This series is inspired by the V8 Supercars 2010 Season. For various reasons look-a-like names and car liveries have been used.

It is assumed the player is already familiar with the original BATracer V8S carset, such as the greater challenges facing drivers trying to get a good setup. However, this has a very different race calendar and event format - gone are the reverse grid races and using previous race finishes to decide grids. Many races are also longer, and - due to a shift to E85 fuel - stints are shorter, resulting in more pitstops.

7 race meetings involve two largely identical length races - allowing you a 2nd shot at getting your strategy right if you screwed up previously. 5 race meetings involve 2 races of differing lengths. On top of this, there are the special "L&H 500" and Bathurst rounds which have unique formats.

    Qualifying

Almost all races use the following qualifying format:

The initial race at each venue uses a 3-stage qualifying format. Only 1 car is knocked out during the first session, which acts as largely a practice/warmup event - try not to crash before qualifying begins properly! The next session reduces the number of cars down to the top 10, where the fight for pole is concluded in the final phase. This is the best approximation we could find for the real series - with the only change being the addition of a single car being knocked out in the first phase.

The second race does something slightly different. The real series uses an exact repeat of the first, but following this format would result in gameplay taking almost 2 months to complete! From a gameplay point of view this also lacks variety. Therefore, qualifying for the 2nd race is decided by practice times which makes the game nearly 2 weeks shorter, but also more varied.

    L&H 500

This event has a unique qualifying race, the finishing positions thus deciding the grid order for the main event. The pre-qualifying race grid order is decided by the usual 3-stage format.

    Bathurst

This is a single-race event and qualifying is based on the usual 3-stage format.

    Points

Points are awarded for all finishes, even if you come last. A retirement offers no points at all.

The points are awarded as follows:

    Position1234567891011121314151617181920212223242526272829

    Pitstops

Although pitstops are no longer mandatory (except at the L&H 500 Qualifying Race) a fuel limit restriction means pitstops are made at all races anyway. The race strategy page will provide you with your available options for pitstops, which differ from race to race.
