Cars

Trust Team Arden

A new name for Arden as Dutch backers Trust come on board for the 2008 season. The team has a solid foundation however in the team based back in Banbury, and they will be hungry for a return to championship winning status.

ART Grand Prix

Double GP2 champions in 2005 and 2006, ART Grand Prix is hungry to take its championship back following the disappointment of finishing as runners up to iSport in 2007. The French team has strength in depth and will aim to do in 2008 what it did in 2005.

Barwa International Campos Team

2007 was the season in which Campos came of age. It saw the team take three race wins, and finish third in both championships. In 2008 the team will be hoping to repeat its 2007 form, becoming consistent race winners.

BCN Competicion

Three years in and BCN is the only team in GP2 yet to score a race win. Enrique Scalabroni and his hard working, dedicated and well liked team will be hoping 2008 is the season in which they finally taste the success on which their reputation was based.

DAMS

The iconic French team has made steady moves since the first years of the GP2 series, and enter 2008 with their sights set high. Dams hit new heights in 2007 taking two race wins and getting to fifth overall.

DPR

DPR’s form has slipped of late. After regular race wins in 2005, the team has had to make do with occasional podium finishes over the last two seasons. 2008 however gives the squad a shot at getting back amongst it and fight for the wins they know they can achieve.

Durango

The Italian squad had its best ever GP2 result in 2007, beating its fellow Italian teams to sit seventh at the end of the championship. Repeating that kind of form in 2008 won’t be an easy task, but the team is as motivated as ever.

Fisichella Motor Sport International

2007, as with 2006, was a tale of what might have been for FMS. With the disappointments of the last two seasons moved to the side of its mind, FMS has its sights set very definitely on the top step of the podium in 2008.

iSport International

Reigning GP2 champions, iSport International enters 2008 as the team to beat. The engineering background and hard work ethic of the team will stand it in good stead with the new car in 2008, as it aims to repeat its 2007 success.

Piquet Sports

After two seasons of race wins and champagne, 2007 saw scant reward for Minardi Piquet Sports. 2 podiums was all the team had to sing about in a season when the squad spent as much time scratching its head as it did racing. Testing for 2008 has been very positive, frequently topping the timesheets.

Racing Engineering

Racing Engineering enters 2008 with a championship challenge a very real possibility. Race winners in 2005 and 2007, Racing Engineering will be hoping to mount a consistent challenge at the front.

Super Nova Racing

A team with a long a glorious history at this level of motorsport. After taking race wins and proving consistent and competitive in 2007, Super Nova came close to snatching third place in the standings. The team will be looking to 2008 as a season in which they will hope to solidify rather than yo-yo.

Trident Racing

As the bottom ranked Italian team in 2007, Trident has its reputation and its national pride to play for in 2008. Although the team won in Monaco in 2007, it was nowhere near as competitive as it had been in its rookie 2006 championship. 2008 is a chance to rebuild and make amends.

GP2 Racing Strategy Game

The GP2 Series, GP2 for short, is a form of motor racing introduced in 2005 following the discontinuation of the long-term Formula One 'feeder' sport, Formula 3000. The format was conceived by Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore.

Designed to make racing affordable for the teams and to make it the perfect training ground for life in Formula One, GP2 has made it mandatory for all of the teams to use the same chassis, engine and tyre supplier so that true driver ability is reflected. Most races take place as support races at Formula One race weekends.

Although graduation to Formula One is not guaranteed, in the three years the series has been running, the champions have always graduated immediately into Formula One.
