Generic Supertouring Racing Strategy GameThe Supertouring era produced some of the most exciting racing ever. During the 1990s, the BTCC was one of the most popular series in the world, with grids full of manufacture teams, and close racing. The regulations were popular all over Europe and beyond, and the carset here has an international flavour to it, representing the many series run around the continent, although is run with rules from the BTCC.
Points 1st - 15pts 2nd - 12pts 3rd - 10pts 4th - 8pts 5th - 6pts 6th - 5pts 7th - 4pts 8th - 3pts 9th - 2pts 10th - 1pt
Pole - 1pt Fastest Lap - 1pt Most Laps Lead - 1pt
Pitstops In most pitstops 2 tyres are changed. There are a few ways to change tyres such as Fronts, Rears, Working Side or All Tyres. Some combos makes the car quicker, others make it easier, and some depends on the circuit. 4 tyre pitstops will obviously take longer, so choose wisely!
When the weather changes and wet tyres are needed all 4 tyres are automatically changed.
Pitstops must be taken within the pit window at each track. The window is between 15% and 70% of the race distance, and your scheduled stops must take place within this period. You will not react to a safety car if that would involve you making the stop outside of the pit window, and also, any unscheduled stops for damage or weather changes taken outside the window must be in addition to the scheduled stop inside the window.
Upgrades Due to Supertouring regulations there are no chassis upgrades, but common engine and tyre upgrades.
Carset Advancement To maximise the racing and keep the carset a reasonable length, the qualifying and sprint race will advance at the same time, so make sure that you have a sprint race strategy and driving style set before qualifying. Once the sprint race has taken place, you have the chance to improve your setup, and set a strategy for the feature race, making sure that you make the correct calls on which tyres to change. Qualifying starts off with a 30 minute session to set the grid for the feature race, followed by a single lap shootout to set the grid for the sprint race.
Your six sets of tyres will last the entire weekend, and will not be replaced after the qualifying and sprint race.
