Basic Yet Useful Tips For New Players

Obviously, setting up is going to be hard when you first join, but don't panic.

Firstly, you want to see what your trusty engineer, Jules, has to say. He will tell you as to what vague stting each parameters needs to be. For example, 'soft suspension' or 'stiff ARB's (anti-roll bars).

I find it helpful (especially in FireFox internet browser) to go to the link for car setup whilst on the engineers report, right click, and select 'Open Window In New Tab'. That way, you aren't confusing yourself.

Now, having read other tyre guides available, select the appropriate tyres for the weather conditions in the drop down tyre list. Now, set the experimentation bar to 72. I find this gives reliable feedback and limited crashing.

Having followed the engineers advice to set vague parameters, click 'Test'. You will see that some bars will now say 'Estimation Updated!' and will offer new and 'tighter' hi-lo values.

KEY TIP. This may sound weird, but once a new estimation like: lo:34 hi:100 has been set, put the bar a long way away from the new 'figure' (the one that isnt 0/100). That way you can establish a high setting early on, and be able to narrow it down over laps.

Keep on testing your car until you have no laps left. You should see that the majority of the parameters now have very tight lo/hi values, meaning the perfect setup is very close.

KEY TIP: On your last lap, set the experimentation bar VERY high. That was even if you crash, you get lots and lots of data.

I would go into changing setups for wet weather etc, but there are already guides for that. Hope you found this useful.
