Known bugs and mis-conceptions in the game

The following notes are just a collection of so-called ‘bugs’ that people tend to come across, and also things that people might think are bugs, but are actually perfectly normal occurrences in the game.

Common ‘bugs’ present in the game:

1). If you join a ‘mid-season’ game that you have not previously started as a full public game, your results will not be counted towards your WR – regardless whether you tick the WR box or not.
*Note that this is also class-specific for games like LMES, BTCC and MR2s.

2). In carsets, like LMES and V8, where the number of tyres you get varies per race – there is a bug in qualifying. If you pick tyres 1:9 (e.g.) in Sebring, they will not exist in the next in the next race (only 4 sets). If you do not check or change your quali tyres prior to quali for the second race, then you will end up roughly 11 seconds off the pace.

3). In race strategy, you cannot set your SC reaction to a number higher than your normal pit-reaction slider

4). During a race, if you retire on the final lap, you will still be classified behind every finisher (even those who are multiple laps down).

5). Home race at the 1st race. You do not get more practice laps.

Common Mis-conceptions present in the game:

1). “The weather has changed” appears after qualifying has advanced – despite practice and quali being dry, and also warm-up and the race being shown as dry. This is not a bug but the weather has only slightly changed by about 1 or 2%. Hence, the change is not great enough to be displayed as ‘greasy’ but a change has occurred nonetheless.

2). “The perfect setup is x points beyond the capabilities of the car” appears in red letters on the car setup screen. This means that one of the parameters in car setup is above 100 or below zero. These are most prominent in CC road-courses and when the weather is (very) wet.

3). When the setup after being updated displays something like “45-46”. This happens after a weather change. Always obey the most recent instruction displayed, e.g. if it said, “decrease setting” then 45 would be considered to be the ‘spot-on’ value.

4). Mid-season titles do not count to your main title count. You must play a full season for it to count. In the event of a mid-seasoner winning, the title will be credited to the next person along who is not a mid-seasoner.

5). More of a general note about DCs and sliders; many things are not guaranteed in the game. E.g. you can still experience mech problems when your slider is at zero or even when you pick mech sympathy.

A few other tips:
>>>Private games NEVER count to your stats
