Usually, if your car setup is about 80-100, it is good enough and make your car become faster.But, if your car setup is about 10 and below, it means your car is not good enough. So,what will you do is go to the engineers advice and you will see words like medium suspension and loose brake bias. So, it means like this: High:75-100 Medium:37-62 Low:0-25 Soft:0-45(always for suspension) Hard:70-100(always for suspension) Safe:20-40(always for brake) Stiff:65-100(always for ARBs) Chapter 2:Problems with the car Problems A:Changing Weather Maybe the formula in chapter 1 can help you but when there are weather change,it makes your car become not good because the practice session was held in bone dry weather but in race,it is rain weather. .So,what will you do is change the setup that is wrote in engineers advice. Just like this Font downforce +20 Rear downforce +35 Front suspension -20 Rear suspension -35 Front anti-roll bars -18 Rear anti roll bars -30 Front Ride Height +12 Rear Ride Height +14 Front tyre pressure +10 Rear tyre pressure +12 Gears +5 Brake Bias +15 0 NOTE:When you want to change the wet setup to dry setup,you change the + to - and - to +. This is the wet setup.When the practice session is rain and the qualifying is in the bone dry condition,what we have to do is: 1)First,change the practice session setup to wet setup. 2)Do your setup until you get the perfect setup for the wet setup. 3)After finishing doing the setup,turn it into dry setup. Problems B:The Circuit Sometimes,your car is in 100% setup just like this High downforce Medium suspension Stiff ARB Maybe you will think like this Downforce: 75 80 Suspension 50 55 ARB 57 65 But sometimes,look the circuit like Sepang Circuit.It has many hard sector and if you put your setup like that,it maybe cause your car to over-steer and crash. Chapter C:Stagger/Differential The player who playing this type of carset 1)Indycar Series 2008 2)Indy 500 3)Champcar Generic Championship 4)Champcar 2.0 Version You will find the stagger setup.What you should do is when you race in oval race,you put in low stagger(until zero 0)and if you race in street or road circuit,put it in high level. Chapter D:Lies Setup Sometimes,you can see the statement. "The perfect setup lies 5 points beyond the cars capabilities." What does it means?So,I asked Timothy Mabbutt III and he said: "Example,when the setup lies 5 points beyond the capabilities of cars,then it will be -5 or 105 on a slider. Of course you don't see this but now you will be hopefully capable to calculate it Of course sometimes you will be not able to calculate it I shall give you an example you read its 23 points behind capabilities. so you think there is a slider that's 23 points off. but it can be more sliders . So it can be there is a -8slider,a 107 slider,a-4slider,and a 104 slider. (this is an extreme example) In this case you wont be able to know where some sliders are ... but this only happens 1 out of 1000 times so don't worry about that . Something else to note about when the setup is beyond the capabilities of the car in changing weather conditions: Say the setup is 5 points outside the capabilities for a dry setup, ie If one parameter is 105, and a wet weather setup is required. for example if after changing to wet the parameter is 80; dry setup = 100 (max. allowed) wet setup = 80 Then you need to adjust to take into account that the dry one is actually 105, so the wet will in fact be 85.
