Using the Wet/Dry Setup tool
Determine the weather value
The weather value is a confusing one, since the setup tool only ranges from -50 to 50, and guides go from 0 to 100! It's a simple conversion, however - the value is halved and that is what value you put in. If you need to go back, make it negative.
Bone Dry = 0% Wet Factor Greasy = 9% Wet Factor Moist= 18% Wet Factor Drizzle = 27% Wet Factor Light Rain = 36% Wet Factor Rain = 45% Wet Factor Wet and Slippery = 54% Wet Factor Steady Rain = 63% Wet Factor Heavy Rain = 72% Wet Factor Treacherous Rain = 81% Wet Factor Monsoon = 90% Wet Factor Storm = 100% Wet Factor Source: Tom Hartley: Converting Your Set-up for Different Weather
So, say you've practiced bone dry, qualify in rain, warm-up in drizzle and race in a storm - bit of an extreme example but an exercise in flexibility:
- To adjust for the rainy qualifying, set the adjustment slider to 22 or 23 to adjust for rain - use your best judgement here since 45 doesn't divide cleanly.
- To move from rain to drizzle, simply subtract the factor for drizzle from the factor for rain and halve it - so 45 - 27 = 18, then halved = 9. Negate it to go back, so move the slider to -9.
- After warm-up, we go from 27 to 100 - i.e. 100 - 27 = 73, halved = 36 or 37 (again, use your judgement here!)
I hope this guide has been helpful for you, if not please PM me if you have any queries.
